Light is creeping back in

It’s lovely having the morning light creeping back into our world. These moments when the soft light creeps in and baths everything in a light that tends towards the pastel, have such short lifespans. I really love these moments.

I took this image this morning, and decided to do a little cropping as I walked. I shouldn’t have. By the time I was done cropping this image on my phone, the light was gone. The moment was over. I should have stayed ‘in the moment’. Too late for this day.

But there is always tomorrow. And all the other tomorrows. My experience is that these ‘momemts’ occur quite over- but you need to be out and open to seeing them. Get out and be. Be in nature- even if it’s just for ten minutes. Do it.

Being out and about in the early and late light- being cold and tired, but doing it anyway- being engaged with the natural world and seeing these ephemeral vignettes- this is what it means to be engaged with our world.
