Southeastern Utah for a week with 4 people and a dog. Not everyone would think this is paradise.
The Sienna is getting a little tight as the girls get older, but they are seasoned roadtrippers now that they are both in their teens. Obi doesn’t love long trips, but he will tolerate one long day at each end of the expedition if the rest of the trip is punctuated with lots of walks. For this trip, I was able to fashion a platform in the back of the van for Obi. I put some of the luggage around his dog bed, and food, gear, and spare tire underneath. He seemed to like this set up more than prior accommodations I have made for him.
After unpacking in our basecamp in Cedar City, Utah, we headed out to the Parowan Gap. If you find yourself anywhere in the Cedar City area and you like rock art, take an hour or so and see this area. Amazing doesn’t begin to cover it, but it’ll have to do.

The zipper looking petroglyph (above) is the most important one in the Gap. It appears to be an archeoastronomy site and this glyph is the key.
